Package #1 was from the sweet Nic at Spoiled Rotten. I was the lucky winner to her first Giveaway :) She sent out the package on Monday and I got it in just two days! Yay for fast shipping USPS! I couldn't hold my excitement and ripped open the package as soon as the postman handed it to me.
Look at all the pretty and colorful wrapping papers. I wonder what's inside?
First of all, she gave me this cute card with a pretty bow tie on it. I was so touched by her sweet message inside. Thanks so much Nic <3
Candies!!! She knew I love HK so she made sure to pack some extra HK goodies for me :) I don't think I'll ever be able to bite down onto that cute HK marshmallow lollipop Nic! But the rest of the yummies are all in my tummies now :p
More HK! It's a cute HK cell phone charm. Unfortunately my iPhone doesn't have a charm attachment, does anybody know how to attach charms on iPhones? The cute charm is on my purse now for the time being until I figure it out! A pink Drama Queen notebook that's a perfect size to carry around and jot down my thoughts of the day and shopping lists :) Also, this really pretty oriental styled coin purse! It's perfect!
Last but not least, beauty related prizes:
She got me the Bonnebell Glimmer Bronze that everyone seems to be raving about. Two of the new Wet n' Wild Craze nail polish, and two of the L.A. Colors Art Deco nail art lacquer. I am so excited about all the new nail polishes, I've been really into a nail polish recently, yay for new additions to add into my collection :) I'm going to have to practice nail arts and drawing French tips with those nail art pens! She also got me a nail file, and a big jar of LAMB body scrub which I started using the night after I received the package. It smells so good, and this big jar will last me forever :)
Thank you so much Nic for your lovely prizes. I feel so loved! Make sure you guys check out her lovely blog, she has this "I ♥ Daily" on her blog where she posts the cutest finds. I love reading them and drooling over the goodies she finds!
Package #2 came from Kalmo from Cambo Soup. She insisted on sending me more goodies despite how much nice gifts she already got me during out meetup last Friday. I love this girl, she is the sweetest friend ever! She knew that I've been really into nail polishes lately, and got me more OPIs to add to my collection -- the Senoritas set that includes a RapDry Top Coat, Pink Flamenco, No Spain No Gain, and Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees. I have the Pink Flamenco on my nails right now. It's so pretty! These mini nail polish bottles are so tiny and cute!
Package #3 came from Perricone MD. It is my prizes from winning Connie from Skin Deco's giveaway from a while ago. I never received the prize package the company were sending me last month, so I got in touch with one of the customer service representatives and he was extremely helpful in making sure that I get the prizes. I got the Perricone MD Advanced Eye Area Therapy. It came in at perfect timing because I had just ran out of my StriVectin eye cream earlier this week, and now I have an eye cream replacement. I've read great reviews on this product, so hopefully it'll do some miracles to my eyes as well :) He was also nice enough to give me a deluxe sample size of the Face Finishing Moisturizer, and two samples. Thanks Connie for choosing me as a winner, and thank you Perricone MD for being so helpful and generous!
Finally, food from Wednesday evening. The bf took me to a cute little steakhouse overlooking the bay, we were able to watch sunset and airplanes taking off from SFO right at our table. Needless to say, the food was also super yummy. Best filet mignon I've tasted.
Our appetizer tower:
Best crab and artichoke dip ever!
My filet mignon:
And the bf's seafood linguine:
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

When you open the box, it truly smells like those dry milk powders that I used to drink as a baby. You are suppose to mix one spoonful of the powder (spoon is included in the can so you know exactly how much you need everyday) into whatever drink of your choice. It is super convenient since you can mix it in either hot or cold drinks, and it is not suppose to affect the result. I also like the fact of drinking it down with some yummy drinks, instead of gulping down as much as 6 pills a day for collagen pills. I like to mix the power in with flavored soy milk, my favorite is the green tea or vanilla flavored. I also like to mix it with whatever juice I am drinking that day. Make sure to mix vigorously to get all the powder dissolved into your drink (it dissolves fairly easily), so you don't have any left over clumps of powder on your cup and waste them. I've also tried drinking it with fat-free milk and plain water, however I don't recommend that because you can taste the difference the powder made to your drink -- my milk felt more bitter, and my water tasted fishy. Those were just my first impressions as I've only tried each method once before I gave up and found a better alternative to mix the powder in. I think the sweet and richness of the soymilk, and the juice just cover up the taste of collagen powder better.
With that said, yes, the collagen powder, despite SMELLING like milk, actually taste a little bit fishy to me. But it's definitely not overwheming and could be easily masked with a flavorful drink. After all, the main ingredients of the amino collagen powder is FISH collagen peptide. I've read all the reviews of the product on Sasa's website, and it seems like a lot of people complained about the fishy taste, however I think the manufacture have improved their formula a lot to get rid of the taste as much as possible, and make it resembles more of a milky smell/taste. The taste doesn't bother me at all, especially considering the benefit it might be doing to be my skin :)
Here are the ingredients in the Meiji Amino Collagen Powder:
Fish collagen Peptide (Gelatin), Maltdextrin, Vitamin C, Vegetable Fat & Oil, Glucosamine, Arginine, Flavor, Gelling Agent (Pullulan), Emulsifier (Fatty acid ester of glycerin, Lecithin) (Some of the ingredients may contain gelatin, milk constituent, soybeans).
If you decide to try the collagen powder out yourself, here is the link on Sasa that I order from: Meiji Amino Collagen Powder. A can contains 200 grams of product, the recommended amount to take is 7 grams, so the can lasts about 28 days. Sasa also has a refill bag that contains 214 grams of products, that's an extra 2 days worth, for the same price. I suggest you to get a can first, so you get a container for future refills (that come in plastic bags), plus you get the measuring spoon so it saves you the hassle to guess how much 7 grams is every time.
Hope this little bit of information about collagen powder helped! If you decide to try it, please let me know what you think of the product, and whether if you see any improvements on the elasticity and texture of your skin. For all I know, maybe what I'm seeing on my skin for the past month have been all psychological after seeing all the great reviews on Sasa. hahahahaha just kidding :p

Last Friday I had a chance to meet up with Kalmo from Cambo Soup again :) We had a great time chatting with each other about anything and everything, until the restaurant employee were turning off their light and ready to close for the day! Kalmo was so much fun to talk to, and she was extra sweet and gave me lots of goodies too! You all know how she did a bunch of reviews on various concealers on her blog. I am in a hunt to find my perfect concealer too to cover up my under eye circles. When I mentioned that to her, she was sweet enough to let me try two of the concealers she had but didn't work so well on her.
The Vichy Dermablend Skin Concealer in 30 Medium. The concealer has a super strong yellow tone, and very thick and creamy. But just like what Kalmo reviewed, the finish of the concealer is super dry under my eyes, which is a big no no since I have the problem of having creamy products settling into the fine lines under my eyes and creasing. Within a few minutes of trying this product out under my eyes, the concealer creased big time :( However, I did find the concealer a good match (the scary yellow undertone disappears once blended in) for concealing blemishes on my face, it has good coverage since it is very creamy in texture.
The Cover Blend Multi-Function Concealer SPF 15 is suppose to offer non-creasing, natural-looking all day wear. To me, it did exactly what it promised -- it doesn't crease much! This is the first concealer that I've tried that doesn't crease heavily on me, so I am really excited about it!
Also in her goodie bag, Kalmo gave me this cute glass jar of Burt's Bees Beeswax and Banana hand cream, which smells oh so yummy! I love anything banana-flavored. I think I am going to purchase a full sized jar of this hand cream after I use this one up. Love love the smell!
She also gave me some samples to try out. I am really interested in trying the DHC products. Thanks so much sweetie! <3 Onto my haul -- I ordered from Sasa again. This time to stock up on the Meiji Collagen Powder that I started drinking since last month. I also finally got my hands on some Silk Whitia masks during the Sasa BOGO promotion (which I believe is still going on right now!) :D I decided to get two more bags of the collagen powder because I just finished my first can. I am pleased to say that my skin condition has improved a lot over the past month. I can't be certain that it was all because of the collagen powder, because at the same time, I switched up a few skincare products, one of which is the Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer Serum, which I love using everyday! However, I've started to notice that my skin feels smoother, and when I wake up in the morning, my T-zone is no longer as oily as before. I still get breakouts occasionally, but I've noticed the acne scars would heal a lot faster than before. Those annoying scars usually took about a week for them to completely disappear, but nowadays, they usually get better on just the 2nd or 3rd day. As I said before, I can't be completely sure if the collagen powder is doing all that to my skin yet, that is why I bought two more refill bags so I can keep drinking this for another two months and see! I will keep you posted :)

A little bit of background info about my skin:
Combination to oily skin, oily around T-zones, visible pores around T-zones, redness around nose and cheek sometimes, undereye dark circles and fine lines, occasional breakouts monthly.
Want to concentrate on:
Reduce visible pores, reduce shine, and relief dark circles & fine lines under eyes.
Skincare Morning Routine:
As soon as I wake up, I brush my teeth and use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash my face. I used to just use cold water with no face wash on most mornings, but ever since I started using Egyptian Magic cream, I've been using Cetaphil to wash my face every morning, just to get rid of any oil or buildups from overnight. Cetaphil is the most gentle cleanser I've ever used, it takes a little bit to get used to since it doesn't foam like most cleanser do, but it has never caused a problem to my skin. Definitely a permanent item in Lulu's bathroom!
The toner I am currently using is the Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner, it's designed for oily and problem skin. I probably won't repurchase after I finish up this bottle, I couldn't tell if it helped my skin at all, and it stings a little bit because it contains alcohol. I plan on trying the Clinique toner next! Any other good toner suggestions?
For serum, I am using either the PerriconeMD Advanced Firming Activator, or my new Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer (not pictured) that I just purchased. Both are great in helping to make my skin feel very smooth (especially the Clinique one, new HG!)
Eye cream -- StriVectin SD eye cream. I didn't see any dramatic changes around my eyes after using up an entire tube of this, I am on the hunt for eye cream again! (And also not included in the picture is my Kevin BeautyMaker eye serum, I usually use that BEFORE I apply a thicker layer of eyecream)
Face cream -- American Ultimate Diamond Restorative Anti-Aging Cream.
SPF eye cream -- Shiseido Sun Protection Eye Cream Sunscreen SPF 32 PA+++. It's important to have SPF around the eye area as well! The Shiseido one is really good, it doesn't irritate or sting my eyes at all, and has such a high SPF. It makes me feel good (and reassured when I wear this before going out during the day).
Sunscreen -- depending on what I am doing that day, if I know I'm going to be out in the sun a lot, I'll wear my waterproof sweatproof Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion for Face/Body Very Water Resistant Sunscreen SPF55 PA+++, if I am just going to be indoors for most of the day, then I'll wear Skin Appetit Nutri-Collagen Daily Moisturizer in SPF 15.
Skincare Night Routine:
After I get out of the shower and washed my face [Edit: thanks to Becks for reminding me, I am using the LUSH coalface cleanser to wash my face at night current], I'll apply the Burt's Bees toner again.
For serum, I'll either use the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, or Clinique Turnaround serum.
Then Kevin BeautyMaker eye serum, StriVectin-SD eye cream, American Ultimate Diamond face cream, all same as the morning routine.
For lips I like to use the Wild Ferns Manuka Honey lipbalm that I got from New Zealand, smells so sweet and the balm itself is very moisturizing.
Lastly I apply Egyptian Magic cream all over my face, and also on elbows and knees and anywhere else that needs extra moisturizing.
Weekly Exfoliating Treatment:
Besides doing masks every week (whenever I have time or remember to), I try to exfoliate my face once or twice weekly. I either use a scrub or peel, such as the Korres Olive Stone Scrub, or Sana Peeling Gel, or Laneige Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel. To scrub away any dead skin cells and let my skin renew itself.
Occasionally pimples pop up, and I treat them with Zapzyt 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Gel (which worked wonders for me at first but not as effective anymore...), or the Nexcare Acne Dressing that Diana reviewed here.
Makeup Face Routine:
I prime my face with Korres Face Primer, and prime my eye lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The BB cream I use most often currently is the L'egere Water Drop Shiny Pearl BB Cream. For under eyes, I use Benefit Erase Paste (which creases a lot on me!!! I need to find a better under eye concealer), for any other concealing on my face, I use the NYX Concealer in a Jar. Then I set my makeup and add highlight with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Duo.
Makeup Eyes Routine:
I curl my eyelashes with Koji eyelash curler (#73), then applye Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Birthday Suit all over top eyelid, and tightline with MUFE Aqua Eyes in 1L. If I still have enough time in the morning, I'll put on eyeshadows, my current favorite is Stila Precious Pearl Palette. And put on mascaras -- Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara.
Makeup Cheeks & Lips Routine:
For bronzer I am using Rimmel Natural Bronzer. For blush I usually either pick Everyday Minerals's pressed blush in Best Friends, or MAC blush in Breezy. My favorite blush is actually the MAC HK beauty powder in Pretty Baby, but I try not to use that one as much because I don't want my HK face on it to wear off, hahaha am I silly or are you like that too?
Then for lips, I always apply Softlips lip balm in Vanilla to moisturize my lips. It smells yum and contains SPF 20. Sometimes I'll use MAC Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15. My current favorite lipstick (if I remember to wear it) is Revlon Matte Lipstick in 003 Mauve It Over.
Makeup Removal Routine:
To remove my eye makeup, I use the Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover (I bought the Walmart version this time instead of see how it compares to the slightly more expensive Neutrogena one, I must say I'm impressed!). Shake it up to emulsify the solution and soak up a cotton pad to apply on my eyelids, remember, gentle sweeping motion is the key, don't tug on your eyelids too much in order to prevent wrinkles around your eyes. Your skin is very delicate there.
For face, I either use a cleansing oil (Kracie Naive Natural Deep Cleansing Oil), or Korres Jasmine Eye Make-up Remover. haha yes, it's suppose to be an eye make-up remover, but please see my review here to why I no longer use it to remove my eye make-up. To follow up and wipe away any excess makeup remover or left over trace of makeup, I go over my face gently with a scentless baby wipe :)
Yay I'm done! Please let me know if you have any questions about any of the products I am using. Now that I summarized what I use everyday, even I think I use too much products on my face...hahahahaha no wonder the bf makes fun of me for my bottles and bottles of products, while he only uses a simple moisturizer every day. :p Please do keep in mind that I don't use some of the pictured products all at once :) What about you? Do you use just as much? or way less? Please share your everyday beauty routine with me :)

Today we had our first rain of the season. I love how fresh the air smells after the rain. I was planning on staying at home all day today to cook some food, do laundry, clean up, watch a few tv shows and just relax. But earlier today, I found out that I had won Audrey's coupon giveaway -- a $50 off of $100 coupon for Old Navy, what a good deal right! Thanks so much sweetie for choosing me as a winner. I discovered Audrey's website recently, her site has tons of product reviews, tutorials, sweet deals announcements and more!
So the boyfriend suggested that we take a break from all the chores and go to the mall so I can shop for some fall clothes at Old Navy with Audrey's coupon! We went to our closest mall only to discover that their Old Navy moved away! By the time we found another nearby store and drove there, that store had closed just 5 minutes before our arrival! What a bummer! However I didn't go home completely empty handed from the mall today. I bought a mini Essie nail set that includes a gorgeous sheer pink polish called Pink is the Link, a bottle of sensitivity base coat that's formulated for even the most sensitive skin, and a cute pink crystal nail file. I've been really into nail polishes lately, and have always been curious about Essie polishes. I tried my new polish out tonight, and I love it! The formula goes on very smoothly. Even though this particular color is very very sheer, here I am with two coats of it and my nails still look like they had barely anything on. But I do love the polished and glossy look it gives my nails. I want to try more Essie polishes now!
I also stocked up on my Korres body butter and shower gels. I recently read in a newspaper article that it's the fig season. I've never tried fig scented products from Korres so I picked some up. Can't wait to try it tonight! I also picked up this Korres Little Natural Products set that includes body milk, 2 bath gels, a shampoo and a conditioner, which I thought would be a wonderful chance to try out different products from Korres, and also to bring along on travels.
Thanks to all you sweet girls for giving me suggestions on what Clinique products to try out! I've written all of your suggestions down and will be heading to the Clinique counter at Macy's soon once they start the GWP on Oct. 7 (Thanks Edna for letting us know about the good deal) :)
Now onto awesome giveaways from some lovely blogger girls :)

I decided to make this haul because I got an email from Sephora advertising their Clinique Turnaround Bonus Set, which includes a full 1 Oz. sized Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer, and two bonus sample sized Turnaround Instant Facial and Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer. I've been wanting to try the skin renewer ever since Katie reviewed the product and claimed it as her all time HG in her skincare routine videos here. The reviews on Sephora are also all so great, with people claiming it to help smooth out the skin, reduce the appearance of pores, and brighten up complexions. With an 1 Oz. pump bottle costing $39.50 on Sephora, the Bonus Set turned out to be a great deal at $37.50, and comes with a cute makeup bag as well. I am hoping this new skincare will give me smoother skin and allow me to wave goodbye to dull complexion days. I've been troubled with some tiny pumps on my chin recently, hopefully this product will help to make them go away soon! Can't wait to try it! I also heard the instant facial is a great pick-me-up product to use once or twice a week. I've never tried too many Clinique products before, hopefully I'll like all of them because I am interested in trying out more of their products in the future! What are some of your favorite Clinique products that you think I should try out?
Also from my Sephora haul, I got the Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF. I am almost running out on my favorite Shiseido sunscreen eye cream (see my June Favorites), so I decided to give the Clarins one a try and see which one I like better.
As an deluxe sample, I got an AmorePacific Treatment Enzyme Peel. It's suppose to be a gentle powder exfoliator that "refines and brightens skin". I can't wait to give this a try. I've never used any powdered face products before. By the way, isn't AmorePacific the same company that makes The FaceShop products?
Now onto Lulu's Kitchen -- some food from this week:
Hot Wings (they are baked in the oven instead of fried, but taste just as good! Super easy recipe too, if anyone wants it please let me know!):
And chicken feet! Don't look if you don't like to look at them, haha, I admit they don't look so great/appetizing, but they sure taste good! If you haven't tried chicken feet from a dim sum place, what are you waiting for! Go order some :)
Yay weekend is almost here! I am soooo looking forward to this weekend!

College football season has started, and this past Saturday was our school's first game. We scored 7 touchdowns and won!
Excited student crowd surfing after our first touchtown:
Marching band during half time -- they were playing Red Hot Chili Peppers songs:
Then on Monday night, my good college friend and her boyfriend visited us at our new house. We ordered hot wings from Wing Stop, and I also baked carrot and pumpkin cupcakes for dessert! Everyone loved my cupcakes :)
Look at the celery and carrot sticks I cut up :)
Target is selling some hair products for buy 1 get 1 free! I've always wanted to try the CHI 44 Iron Guard heat protection spray. At Walgreens, I picked up a Rohto redness relief cooling eyedrops, it's suppose to give your eyes this cooling sensation and help relieve itchiness and redness. I've tried it, and I like the tingling sensation it gives. It's like mint for the eyes, and the whites of my eyes would look less red afterwards and make me look more awake.
Now onto the giveaways! The lovely Dana from My Simple RaNdOmNeSs is having an awesome giveaway with some really cute prizes, she also sells the cutest cell phone charms so make sure that you check her D♥T Charm out and follow her blogs!
Also, sweet Adin from Spoiled Rotten is having her First Giveaway! Her prizes are also really awesome! Please go check out her lovely blog!
Edit: I could not miss the chance for this giveaway! The prizes are fabulous and I've been wanting to try Vitacreme B12 for a long time now, and even more so after Ena from Shanghainese Dumpling reviewed it on her blog! Now she's giving away one Vitacreme B12 for a lucky reader to try out, plus TONS of other awesome goodies!!! So exciting :) Please check out her blog, you will not be disappointed!!!

♥ Revlon 1" hair crimper iron -- I bought this useful tool from Amazon.com. I take away the very top layer of hair on top of my head, and crimp a few bottom layers with the crimper iron to give my hair more volume. Thanks to Fuzkittie for sharing this wonderful idea. For more info, please check out her video :)
♥ Kiehl's Blue Asrigent Herbal Lotion -- I don't use this as a toner for my whole face as it does contain alcohol, and is very drying for the skin. However, this works wonders as a spot treatment for any breakouts! I just soak a cotton ball or a Q-tip with this toner and dab it at wherever needed on my face. Also, it does an amazing job helping to shrink the enlarged pores on my nose after doing a nose strip or facial. Another good use for it is to use it as an aftershave to prevent discomfort or ingrown hair. I would keep using this product, but it is unlikely I'll run out anytime soon because I bought a huge bottle of it!
♥ Stila Precious Pearl Palette -- Edna's present for me from our most recent meet-up :) She originally wanted to put it up on her blogsale (please check it out, she has MAC HK items too!) but when she knew that I wanted it, she packed the palette in my goodie bag! Thanks so much sweetie! The colors are simply beautiful, each shadow is infused with genuine crushed pearls and the casing is made with real mother-of-pearl, how cool is that!
♥ Kevin Beautymaker Aquamarine Hydrating Eye Serum -- This is my first BM product. I am loving it so far. The gel is very light and super easy to absorb -- a few dabs under my eyes and I'm good to go!
♥ Revlon Matte Lipstick in 003 Mauve It Over -- I did a post on this lipstick here. This is a beautiful MLBB (my lips but better) color that's good for any day.
♥ The FaceShop top coat -- I read a review from Nikki/Askmewhats a while ago. So when Edna and I took a trip to San Jose last month, we stopped by The FaceShop and I grabbed this. Edna generously paid for my purchase too and saved me from embarrassment because I didn't have any cash in my wallet. :p
♥ Koji eyelash curler (#73) -- I've heard good things about this inexpensive yet effective eyelash curler. It works wayy better than all the other curlers I've tried before (I have not tried the Shiseido or Shu Uemura curlers yet!) and grabs all my lashes at once. You can get this curler from Mitsuawa market.
♥ Stila Sheer Pressed Powder (Medium) -- My HG touch up powder at the moment. It goes on lightly and really keeps my shines at bay for a good 4 to 5 hours. I talked about this product here.
So these are my favorite products from the month of August. What are some of your current favorites? Please share :)
Yesterday was 1/2 off Wednesday at Dave and Buster's. The bf had lucky hands again and won another jackpot on the spin-the-wheel game, yay more stuffed animals for me! :)
Guess what these are:
all natural, organic bean sprouts grown by ME! Can you believe just a handful of mung beans with a little water everyday turned into this much bean sprouts! I read an article online a while ago about how to grow your own bean sprouts at home so I did this for fun :) Now the problem is, how do I finish up this much bean sprouts? hahahaa :D
And of course, Mia of the day:
