Birthday Love from Dina + Quick Review

A while ago, when Pink reviewed The Face Shop Post-Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser, I rushed to my nearest The Face Shop to get my own tube. Much to my disappointment, they were all sold out. I complained about it on Twitter, and the ever so sweet Dina told me that she could help me get one. Well, she didn't just get me one tube of the spot eraser, she also bombarded me with birthday love!

She got me 3 different kinds of The Face Shop sheet masks and a Skin Food one, I am really excited about these because I have not tried any of these formulas. She also got me my first ever Skin Food nail polish in the cutest iridescent pink shade (I cannot decipher the shade name as everything were in Korean :T). And to satisfy my sweet tooth, she got me a baggie full of yummy candies and sweet coffee drinks :)

Now about the Spot Eraser, since many of you probably are curious about my result with it. Dina did a very good review of how she feels about the product here: http://xyyan.blogspot.com/2010/05/review-face-shop-post-acne-nighttime.html

I think I share similar feelings about the product as Dina does. While I do see visible fading in my acne scars, the old scars on my forehead have not completed disappeared yet and I have been religiously applying the spot eraser on every night for the past month or so. Although I feel like if my scars were to fade naturally, it might take even longer, so the spot eraser might have helped to speed up the process.

But on any redness that have occurred within the past month or so ("newer scars"), I notice the redness goes away faster than usual, sometimes even over-night. I think applying the spot eraser gives me a peace of mind and make me feel like I am actively doing something to prevent and help eliminate the formation of hyper-pigmentation on my face due to acne breakouts. Do I really need it? It's hard to say. But since it hasn't caused any adverse skin reactions (it did not break me out), I'd say it's a keeper and I'll keep finish up the whole tube and continue to use it everyday to see if I can see a better result over a longer period of time. Especially since it is fairly easy to apply and absorbs quickly into the skin, so it is not so much of a hassle in my skincare routine. Plus it has a mild floral scent that I actually really like.

Keep in mind that everyone's skin works differently, so who knows, maybe you will see a better result in using this product compared to me. If it does work well for you, please let me know :)

Birthday Love from Nic

Nic, oh how I've missed you! But I haven't forgotten about your lovely birthday presents that totally caught me by surprise!

I spy KIT KAT! :)
The ever so sweet Nic from Spoiled Rotten sent me a surprise birthday package filled with love.

Those royal milk tea flavored Kit Kat were one of my favorite. She also got me the Tree Hut Shea Body Butter in Coconut Lime because she remembers that I love coconut. I've wanted to try the Tree Hut body butters ever since Kalmo reviewed it. The yummy coconut scent was a plus!

Thanks so much Nic! I hope we get to chat soon!

Birthday Love from Kay

Today I want to share the birthday love package from Kay all the way from Japan!

Super yummy matcha milk tea packets, candies, and maple flavored kit kats (hmmm so good!)

Kay heard that I wanted to try Fiberwig mascara and got it for me! How sweet is she! The one she got me is the extra long version, I can't wait to finish my current Kiss Me Heroine mascara so I can try it, hmmm extra long lashes is all I could think about :)

She also knows my love for Hello Kitty and sent me this super adorable Hello Kitty collagen face wash. It's green apple flavored,  one of my favorite candy flavors :)

I had to show you the back, even though everything is in Japanese and I couldn't understand a thing, but look at those diagrams of Hello Kitty washing her face squeaky clean! How adorable is that :)

Thank you so much Kay for your super lovely birthday presents <33333 You are the best!

Birthday Love from Edna

The birthday love continues...

Edna's package arrived at my front porch all nicely decorated with colorful balloons all around. I can feel the love already even before I opened the package!

A peak inside:

Edna picks the cutest card :)

With the touchiest message inside. She even wrote Mia a love note.

Goodies galore:

Essie Wedding Collection nail polishes in 4 lovely shades:

Petal Pink, Show Me The Ring, Walk Down The Aisle, and Main Squeeze. Don't they have the cutest names ever?

What is this? She got me my favorite Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser. She knows that I ran out of my tiny bottles before and got me a bigger bottle! This cleanser is the best cleanser to be used with Clarisonic. It takes off makeup so easily and does not leave my face feel dry afterwards.

Of course, how can we forget the yummies -- Japanese red bean mochi (those were so good), salt water taffy (to celebrate no more braces for Edna!), yummy Kit Kat, and Poifull jelly beans that she got me hooked on.

The cutest little black cat charm is now mine :) I remember when we went to Japan Town last time, we were staring at these!!

Bare Escentuals shower gel, I had no idea they make bath products too, it smells yummy! The cute little bottle is perfect for traveling too!

She remembered that I told her Lemon mask is my favorite scent from The Face Shop:

Of course, I saved the BEST for last:

*GASP* sneaky sneaky girl convinced me not to get it and instead she got them for me! The other day she asked me to choose blue or pink, and I chose blue...little did I know she was shopping for these LE Paul and Joe' Alice in Wonderland collection!

Opened tin with all its contents inside: blotting paper with the most adorable prints on them that I will never want to use, a pack of refill blotting sheets, and an peachy toned lip conditioner. Ahh too adorable!!!

Thank you so much for all the goodies love! I *heart* you forever, teehehee :p

She also got me this cutest and softest Hello Kitty blanket:

And because she knows I love Hello Kitty, her second package:

A Hello Kitty key chain. It came right on time since I was just looking for a key chain to use :)

Her 3rd package was all wrapped and decorated with TLC:

With the cutest hand made card and the item that's been on my wish list forever -- Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L, the blackest black shade.

A lovely belated Xmas present

Edna's sister G is such a sweetie! We never got a chance to meet up during Christmas last year, and finally she decided to just mail her presents for me! The package came right around my birthday last month, so it was perfect :)

She cat-sat Mia last summer for about a week when I had to go on a business trip to Canada. She treated Mia so well! Thanks G again for being so loving to Mia even though I know she must have been annoying!!

The gift bag she sent to me looks like a tiny version of Mia. How cute! I shall treasure this forever :)

Her gifts are really made with love! I couldn't even tell that she had made the card until she mentioned it! How cute!

G is also an excellent cross-stitcher! Gosh Mia is loved by so many people, no wonder she acts like a spoiled brat at home :p Did you come up with the design yourself? It's totally adorable!

Here's a close up of her stitch work:

Thanks so much G, and I am so thankful to have met a loving friend like you. I am also totally excited about your new job, you will be such a wonderful nurse!!! *hearts*

Weekend: Graduation

Fiance and I both received our Master's degree last December, however the campus wide graduation ceremony isn't until May. We weren't going to walk at first, but changed our mind last minute because our advisor insisted that we shouldn't miss out. He was right, it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to walk across that stage again, and we had a lot of fun!

Here we were getting ready to walk across the stage! Yes, we were students in the same department :) It was freezing cold Sunday morning and I was so glad I didn't wear a dress like I had originally planned to.

Look at all these people! It was a shame that my parents couldn't make it this time due to the short notice, but fiance's dad came celebrated with us and took tons of pictures for us  :)

On the shopping front from this past weekend, I met up with my college roommate and we went to the mall together.

I've been looking for these pump like flats and these were perfect, I especially love the tiny bow detail at the front. I also picked up a pair of silver flats. I've totally been in a flats mood lately. One question, do you ladies wear your flats with socks (those no show socks) or barefoot? I find that I sweat a lot more if I don't wear socks, but it feels weird to wear socks with flats...dilemma...

I also bought this purple skirt from Khol's. It's made with thin cottony material that feels extra soft and light.

Interesting cotton swabs that I picked up: the one on the left are individually packed, and has a regular cotton Q-tip on one end, and a plastic scoop thing on the other for cleaning ears. The one in the middle is also individually wrapped, and one end contains olive oil! I thought this would be perfect to toss in the purse, and to clean away any running eyeliners or makeup smudges in the middle of the day.

April rains ruined my Cherry Blossom Festival

...But I still had a ton of fun that day!

San Francisco has Cherry Blossom Festival every year around mid April in Japan Town. This year, Edna, May and I decided to go check it out together and have an girl's day out! Unfortunately, the day that we decided to go turned out to be a rainy day :( I was on my way to San Francisco when I heard that the festival had been canceled! What a bummer :( The heavy storm also prevented Edna from coming over because she lives 3+ hours away. But since I was already on my way to SF, might as well go visit May and do what we do best -- go shopping! hahahaha :D

But of course, more goodies from May! Love you so much girl *hearts*

LE Kit Kats that she ordered from Asianfoodgrocer.com. I am officially hooked onto flavored kit kats now :) Have you tried them before? I guarantee you that you will be addicted just like me, they are so much better than the regular chocolate ones we have here in the US! The ones I got from may are strawberry chocolate, and sweet potato.

More masks and a Eve Pearl lipgloss duo in the colors of Baby Doll and Honey Bunny. I can't wait to try this one out, both colors look really pretty!

From H&M, I got myself two tunic tops to pair with leggings. I am so excited that the weather is getting warmer now that summer is approaching. I look forward to flip flops, leggings, skirts, and tank tops!

From Forever 21, I bought a pair of workout shorts. Ever since our wedding date is set and our venue is chosen, I've forced myself to workout more often and eat healthier so I can look my best on the big day. I will be wearing these when I do my daily elliptical training.

From LUSH, I stocked up on Fluffy Eggs bath bomb. It is part of their Easter collection, and smells like Snow Fairy :)

May and I also stopped by the MAC counter at Bloomingdale's. The MAC girls there are super friendly! May was able to score the last ever blush ombre in Azalea Blossom, lucky girl! While she fell in love with the eye liners from the Art Supplies collection (and came home with 3 :p), I was really curious about these Pro Longwear Lipstain Markers from the same collection. Unfortunately, the pink colored one called Stylesetter was out of stock. This reddish coral shade also drew my attention. It is called Sunset.

It looks and feels just like a felt tip marker. On the lips, it doesn't feel that drying to me, but deposits a nice shade of color that are pretty long lasting. I plan on using a lipstain marker for my wedding day underneath my lipstick, that way even if the lipstick wears off from drinking and eating, I'll still be left with a hint of color on my lips!

without flash

with flash, it appears much brighter on camera. Please excuse the poorly swatched lips that I did in a hurry.
